Which RV size should you actually choose?
Match the rig to what matters most for your trip:
- Want the best lakeside sites (Two Jack Lakeside)? Size down to a camper van or compact motorhome under 27 ft. Nothing larger fits, and these are the most beautiful spots in the park.
- Travelling as a family of 4–6? A Midi or Maxi motorhome (around 27–31 ft) is the sweet spot — full kitchen and beds, and it still fits Tunnel Mountain’s electrical and full-hookup loops.
- Larger group or want full hookups? A Maxi Plus motorhome (up to ~40 ft) gives maximum space; base at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court and day-trip to the lakes.
- First time driving an RV? Smaller is calmer on mountain switchbacks. A van or compact motorhome is the most relaxed introduction.
The biggest rig isn’t the best rig. The right rig is the smallest one that comfortably sleeps your group and fits the campground you actually want to wake up in.
